World Maths Day 2010

Our students from Year 7 (age 11-12) to Year 13 (17-18) (and their teachers!)  have really enjoyed this the last couple of years.
(Note that the competition is also open to younger students)

Play other students from around the world in live games of mental arithmetic.
Everything you need to know is on the Official website

Register and practice from 1st February.
Some new rules for this year – all explained on the website.

05/02/10 Update: My Year 11 class tried this in one of our ICT rooms on Wednesday and loved it. The games this year have a mix of questions so rather than test a single operation such as multiplication players are presented with questions using several operations, there are also questions on sequences.

World Maths Day certainly generates a great deal of excitement for many students of all ages and abilities.
